Last month I visited my son and his family in Wyoming. I have a new grandson who was a month old when I got there. Yea it has taken me over a month to add photo's to my blog. We visited the Black Hills of South Dakota. Some how I feel a connection to them and just love to visit there. Roxi parents are building a log cabin in the Black Hills. These are from there. We went on a little ride. It was so much fun and the area is so pretty.

Friday evening on my way home I saw two not one but two monk seals on the beach across form Hauula Fire Station. The red tape was already up, so no getting too close to them, but I went home and grabbed my camera and went to take some pictures of them, as I have never seen two seals together on a beach. It was getting dark, I had my flash but was told I couldn't use it, didn't have a fast lens so I tried anyway. These are the best of the shots, and then not even very good. But wanted to post them anyway as there were two seals.

This is a small kin tribune to Kahuku's Hongwanji Last Bon Dance. I live in the area and have never been to one. It was so much fun and so very crowded.Food ono with long lines that started way before the bon dance did. The purple t-shirts sold out within the hour. But then again a nightmare for taking pictures, low light and moving people!!! Enjoy.

All week driving into work, the ocean has been really low tide and beautiful. I don't take my camera to work with me as I'd never get to work on time. So this morning I got up early and went to Kaaawa and took a few pictures of the "turtle" that I just love to look at. It was so low tide that I also took some pictures of the reef with the reflection of the sky.

Took these pictures on a recent visit to the Big Island. That's a Lokelani rose and the cardinal is on a fence post at Ahualoa, where my mom who is going to be 92, lives.

Today I did something that I've wanted to do for over a year...hike the Hauula Loop trail. I haven't done that hike for over 6 years. So this morning I got 4 of my grandchildren to go with me, Peja, Rick, Shawnee and Melia. My son, Bryan who is Shawnee and Melia dad surprised us and met us on the trail with the girls dog Bully. It was great fun, but I'm sure not in a shape!!! And it looks like Peja and Rick aren't either. The walking stick, I got it at Yellowstone National Park, about 4 years ago. It went with me on a train ride to Aubany, New York, a plane ride to Gig Harbor, Washington and then a plane ride home. This is the first time I've used it here, and of course the grandkids had to try it out.
