MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL

Saturday, December 13, 2008

Yesterday when I got home I had planned to go to our beach and take a picture of the moon rising, as it was full and close to the earth. When I got home it was raining but stopped about 10 minutes before 6, the moon to rise at 6:02, I got my camera stuff together and headed to the beach at about 5 til 6 but it then started to rain with some lighting. I came back in the house. Our electricity had gone out at about 5pm and the house was dark, so I decided to sit outside on the covered porch and watch the lighting. To my surprise the lighting had some bolts, not knowing what to call them, as they don't happen here very often. So I setup my camera and tripod on the porch and waited. I was only able to catch one lighting with a bolt.

Dec 11 2008 This is dedicated to a very special person.Eight years ago today my best friend, lover and husband went home to Jesus. Long story short, I met this wonderful person when I was 14. I am who I am because of him. Thank you for choosing me. I found this poem and it says it all. I often refer to it when I’m down.

I can let your body go but not the part of you that lives in my heart. My warm memories of you will be with me all the days of my life, And I will cherish every one of them, They will give me strength when I’m weak and happiness when I’m down. I‘ll only have to remember your smile and my hope will be renewed. I’ll only have to think about the way your eyes touched something deep inside of me And I’ll remember that LOVE bonds one soul to another eternally. I can let your body go, but never the LOVE for you I carry in my heart.

On my home on Friday before all the rain, this is what the Koolau Mountains looked like.

I'm a cat lover and these are two of my cats, who just love my bed.

This face was on the side of a building door.

Downtown Honolulu has sure changed. I just love the old buildings mixed in with the new ones. Chinatown is still the same, as I remember from small kid time.Add Image These pictures are from a recent visit to Downtown with Jalna.

About 20 years ago my husband and I bought a patio set made with PVC. We loved the set and it has lasted, except the cushions and the sling that the cushions sit on got old. Maybe 6 or so years ago I found new slings here in Hawaii but never got around to getting the cushions. Then about 3 months ago the top of the table fell off and the grand kids broke the legs. Being the stubborn person that I am I began the hunt to repair the set before the kids throw it away. I found a place in Florida that make this type of furniture. So I got new legs for the table, new slings and cushions for the chairs. And I got a beach chair, that is totally awesome. Shipping sucked but I love the set.
